W środę w nowych drużynach zadebiutowały dwie gwiazdy ligi koszykówki NBA - Shaquille O’Neal (Phoenix Suns) oraz Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks). Nie były to jednak debiuty udane - Suns ulegli u siebie Los Angeles Lakers 124:130, a Mavs przegrali na wyjeździe z New Orleans Hornets 93:104.
